Hi
Ive just posted this on the Bfeeeding site too and I'm not sure whether to be concerned or not. I stooped b-feeding my son about a week ago. have just been lying in the bath bemoaning how much my boobs have shrunk...... and there is a definite lump in one of them - not visible but certainly palpable. Is it likely to be blocked duct after this length of time? I'm trying to persuade myself that it is but also awful thoughts are beginning to run theough my head and Dh is away....

Is it painful littleweed? All my blocked ducts have been and if not I'd definately get it checked out. It's probably nothing to worry about, but you'll need your mind set at peace.

no not painful at all - in fact if I hadn't have been prodding around then wouldn't have noticed it. will go to Dr inmorning if it hasn't gone away. keep your fingers crossed. thanks LW

Littleweed - I had an appointment at the breast clinic yesterday with a lump in my right boob. Very scary at the time, but after being checked out the consultant said that it was very likely an overactive milk duct that hadn't stopped producing milk. I gave up b/f nearly 5 mths ago.

Have had a biopsy and an ultrasound. The ultrasound results come back straight away and the biopsy takes around a week. The sonographer said what he could see was normal glandular tissue - it was just a bit dense.

Definitely get it checked out sooner rather than later. By the time I got my appt yesterday I'd picked the hymns for my funeral - I could have been reassured so much sooner but I kept putting it off.

Phone doctor tomorrow and make sure you're totally satisfied by the answers you're given.

I'm being asked back again because of my family history, but basically everything is fine - just still making milk bizarrely and blocked. Nothing is going to be done about it either.

Will do LW - hope it's nothing.
