For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Hallo!!!

I am starving and waiting for my dinner.

Roasted pumpkin, kumera (sweet potato) brocolli and cauliflower. Ate a delcious golden queen peach today.. mmmmm. Had avocado, fresh tomato on toast with grilled cheese on top for lunch.

About to buy a house, so meals on wheels at the parents will soon be at an end, will have to come over at least once a week though!!

SauerKraut · 15/03/2007 05:41

Sounds good, but at 5.39 in the morning it's a funny breakfast!!

Papillon · 15/03/2007 05:42

its dinner in New Zealand... ooohhh I hear the plates! better go help and I might be able to pick a roast potato up in the process.

SauerKraut · 15/03/2007 05:45

Of course, doh- just read the kiwi thread! Well, while you're having all that veg I shall be trying to exercise my willpower over breakfast- muesli with plenty of fruit and herbal tea, or a very strong coffee with custard creams.

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2007 08:18

Good to see you Papillon! Great news about the house.

SauerKraut - custard creams for breakfast - ooer

How can you not like Marc Bolan?

I love Hot Love

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2007 12:17

Ooh Ms Tatties

I think my favourite is Get it On (in a non-ironic way )

but Ride a White Swan is also marvellous:

"Wear a tall hat like a druid in the old days
Wear a tall hat and a tattooed gown
Ride a white swan like the people of the Beltane
Wear your hair long, babe you can't go wrong"

LOLOLOLOL

DS has a Bolan tribute hairdo

Oh no - the thread's going bonkers again.
Was nice to have Papillon back ther wasn't it?

Overrun - hope you are OK and things are going well.

Been doing OK past few days. DH is trying to detox and not whinging too much about less meat.

No doubt will have lots of cakes at work tomorrow for Comic Relief and I will be forced to eat them. For charity, you understand.

Papillon · 16/03/2007 07:21

Strangetown what you mean nice to have paps back? maybe that was meant to be an exclamation mark

F&Z found out today the house is mine! YAH now I can dig a veggie and herb garden. Thats the good news, the bad news is fish and chips on the beach and nachos for lunch. Oopps

Fillyjonk · 16/03/2007 07:29

I send dp to the gym last night, does that count for anything?

Hi, every one. I am back from the hellish nightmare that is a nhs hospital The operation was okay, I was a bit nervous but they said it was relatively sucessful, so thats good.
My short stay on the ward, was awful though Still I am home now.
I have eaten several apples and a mushroom today, but hopefully dh will manage to prepare some other veggies for dinner.
I was sneakily gratified to see that the thread stalled without me, but that didn't last long did it?
Btw, I am T-rex side of the fence, so I think you are rather out numbered Filly

Greensleeves · 16/03/2007 19:29

I'm so glad you've got it over with and are back home Overrun, sorry your stay was horrible (I can well believe it) but hopefully you won't need another one in the foreseeable future!!

I am having TWO different homemade organic veg soups for dinner this evening (the same ones I had for lunch with a friend!), so am feeling Extra Virtuous

Overrun · 16/03/2007 19:33

Thanks virtuous one I am such a bad mother, dt1 just dived towards my bad leg today, and without thinking I defensively put my good knee up. SLAM, right into his poor little nose. I only went and gave him a nose bleed, god, how bad did I feel?

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2007 21:21

Yay Overrun, that is fantastic news!

You like T Rex!!

oh, and pleased the op went ok. as well

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 17/03/2007 07:23

t rex?

Fillyjonk · 17/03/2007 07:23

(and very pleased re op o/r. good news!)

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2007 07:39

Filly I think we should explore this issue or it will clearly haunt you for the rest of your life

Right what is it that bothers you about T Rex?

The eye liner? The silver flares? The lyrical genius as evinced by titles such as "My People Were Fair and Wore Sky in Their Hair, but Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows"? The enormous, unruly, bushy HAIR???
