Dental implant, who has one?

I have the option to have one as my from tooth has been removed. I have a Maryland bridge at the moment and it is comfortable. My implant will be long due to the way the gum has receded. My dentist suggests coloring part of it pink to match the gum and the rest will match my teeth.

My concern is will this look odd?
That I will go through and spend a lot for a poor cosmetic look.
Should I just keep the bridge I have.

Opinions welcome.

That's normal it should look natural
But I would discuss with the dentist before you begin the treatment
Why are you having an implant if the Maryland is comfortable?

Well that is part of my dilemma. The dentist implies the bone loss continues without an implant so I could lose my chance to have one of the bone loss is speedy.
