I've had flu like symptoms for a few days, but was unable to rest, because my dds are both also ill.

Last night I woke up with severe breathing difficulties - like nothing I've ever experienced - very scarey.

The doctor came out to see me (I live in Belgium and it's easy to get a home visit from a GP, but I have to pay for it) and diagnosed croup.

I am now on a load of medication including antibiotics and inhalers, but I can't rest because I'm too breathless, hence I'm here at the computer.

I thought only children got croup?

I think it is laryngitis ?

by the way - hope you feel better soon. Drinking hot honey and lemon drinks help, and keeping the room moist - have a bowl of water near you maybe.

I've had laryngitis before, but never breathing difficulties, but this is different, I think the doctor said trachytis[sp] and croup.

googling gives : laryngotracheitis

hope you feel better soon. When my DS gets it it usually only lasts a couple of days.
