When should I start worrying about how much ds is eating?

Ds (10 months) has had a horrible flu type virus thing and horrible cough. He's nearly over it now (has had it for over a week) but I think he still has a sore throat. He has been eating hardly anything at any meals and I thought his appetite should have picked up by now.
Now that he is nearly better he does seem to have near enough his usual amount of energy and isn't moaning between meals for food even though he isn't eating much at all.
Should I be worried about lack of food or should I only start worrying if he becomes lethargic and unhappy?

Also, any tips on how to fix his cough and sore throat? The cough medicine for under 1 year olds isn't helping at all.

Oh, poor mite! Will he take some soup, maybe from a cup? Otherwise, plenty of milkshakes/orange juice/ice cream.
If he seems to be perking up, I'd try not to worry too much. Sorry, don't know about the sore throat, my ds is much older and I can't really remember the baby days (thank god )

I think it can take a while to get their appetites back after being poorly so don't worry.

I'd agree with the idea about milkshake/smoothie type drinks and always have a cup of water he has access to. Apart from that if he's really suffering some baby nurofen or calpol migh help soothe him a bit over the next few days while he gets better.

I hope your ds is feeling better. I think other people have said it all really! It's tough when children don't want to eat, but it's most important that they get enough liquid. I'm not so sure about children, but when dogs are ill and they lose their apetite, you can make them iller by trying to make food tastier so they eat it. The theory is that they are using their resources to get better and have less energy to digest and use food effectively. It may be worth having a word with your hv.
