This was picked up during a urine sample i gave when i visited the walk in centre for a suspected gall bladder attack. The nurse at the time said not to worry but as someone who suffers from health anxiety i went home and ordered my own urine strips so i could monitor it.
Fast forward 2 months later i now have a referral from my doctor to see a urologist. I am worried sick i have bladder cancer! I have had 2 urine cultures sent off to check for utis but both came back clear. I also had full bloods done which also were fine.
Ive got into the habit of checking my urine on a daily basis, sometimes 3 times a day, its almost an obsession. Its quite literally taken over my life, i cant eat or sleep for worry.
How reliable are urine dipsticks?? I was buying batches of 10 but decided to order from a different company as they sold a pack of 100. I tested a sample will one from each batch, one showed no blood whats so ever, the other showed the highest concentrate of blood possible?! Two such very different results from the same sample, which has got me in a tizzy?!
Has anyone else had this and its turned out to be harmless?? Ive had it now (that i know of) for just over two months. Im 39, gave up smoking 5 years ago but did smoke for 15 years....... Ive read ths can be a factor for bladder cancer..... I suffer with terrible bad ache not sure if thats relevant ??
