For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

breakfast was a barof chocolate

Sounds pretty impressive to me Zippie

I hope I'm not part of the unspiring-ness of it all ?!

I did so much better today - prob. about 6-7 portions of stuff (satsuma, kiwi, apple, sweetcorn, carrot, peppers) but still completely zomibified by not enough sleep (I mean more than usual) in the last few weeks. I'm hoping to catch up whils tI'm away from nexxt Saturday.

Meanwhile, zippi that's an incredible list of fruit and veg., saved by the bar of choc. Hello..... btw.

Right, off to bed as soon as is seemly (sp?)

Sounds good Jackaroo.
For dinner I had pasta with swiss chard and escarcole (it also had garlic and red onion in it), and I did some cauliflower with pine nuts and raisens. Then had cherries, bilberries, grapes and blackberries and blackcurrants for afters.
I am confident that I had all my portions, but slightly apprehensive about the effect all this is going to have on my digestion
I had several helpings of the Jeruselem artichoke and carrot soup as well.
For me this is the easy bit, as I love planning and cooking meals that are packed with fruit and esp veg.
However, and wait for it, I did a 2 mile walk today. Hurray

Thanks for the info, I di look at veg boxes but they seemed quite expensive and none very local, might have a look at the market tomorrow to see what the stalls there are like.

LOL I am the only person responsible for my uninspirational week

I still have a bit of a cold and am feeling quite crappy this morning, but is my own fault as I was almost over it yesterday, then did 2 hours sports coaching, went to the gym, then out till midnight having long unsuitable unfruity dinner with gang of rowdy women I did eat a very good tomato though.

Everybody sounds as if they are doing a wonderful job and don't let my poor example drag you down

Skribble if you can find a greengrocer they would usually be the cheapest and the most local IME

Keep hunting around for a local box scheme though as new ones are springing up all the time, and the taste of the organic produce is really fantastic

Hi, I always feel virtuous on a Sunday, as we eat loads of veg in particular. We also went for another long walk, are quality family time, I just love the weekends
We had pork cooked in milk, and in the milky sauce, were leeks, onions and carrots. We also had runner beans, mashed swede (although I admit I don't really like it) and cabbage and leeks. Very tasty
And then the farty, I mean Jeruselem Artichoke soup for our tea

new thread here

Overrun a friend of mine makes fartichoke soup and we have been in serious PAIN after eating it...
