Tinnitus- any point in going to doctor?

I get tinnitus but not all the time. A high-pitched ringing in my ears.

Is there any point in going to the GP? Have googled a bit and treatment seems to just be learning to live with it.

It's annoying but doesn't really impinge on my life. I can generally put it out of my mind.

Do you have any hearing loss as well? I've had constant tinnitus for the last two months, a very loud high pitched ringing sound, but it started at the same time as suddenly losing my hearing in that ear. If you've got sudden hearing loss then it's definitely worth going to your doctor

I'd say no just because can't really do anything long term. I had tablets when first had it years ago but wasn't allowed them long term. And now I can't get insurance covering anything to do with hearing as had to declare it!
