Lump on ds neck.

I've seen in the archives that there have been threads on this before but just wanted an opinion.

Ds (4yrs) woke up this morning complaining of a sore neck. We found a lump on the right side. Not really in line with his ear, a bit in front of it. Its about the size and shape of a sugared almond and not hard.
It hurts him when we touch it and he can't move his neck 100%. He seems ok in himself apart from this.

Should we take him to see an out of hours doctor?? Or wait till monday?

TIA

Has he got a sore throat? Could be a swollen gland if his tonsils are up. There is a lot of it about at the moment. GP monday is what i would do, unless he became very unwell. HTH

Hi, I've spoken to a GP. I rang NHS direct, and he thinks the soreness and the lump are not connected.
He said the lump is just probably a gland and the neck ache is most likely to be Rye neck (cricked (sp) neck) which he may have got in the night. Something to do with a trapped nerve.

He said to show my GP the lump in the week if its still there.

Thanks
