Tinnitus....any advice?

Does anyone suffer with tinnitus and know of any rememdies to ease the symptoms as my dad is suffering and doesn't know what to do! Thanks

I have suffered with bilateral tinnitus for over 20 years now and have tried lots of different things to try to ease the suffering.
There is no remedy for tinnitus.
However, your dad can try some of the following:
Avoid aspirin or anything with quinine in it as this can aggravate the tinnitus.
(Some AD's can also aggravate).
Has your dad tried a tinnitus masker or a noise machine ?
When are his noises worse and what sort of noise is it ?

Have also tried Ginko Bilboa but it didn't help me.

It's a high pitched ringing noise and it's worse at night time

I also found that having continuous background noise helps me.

It may be worth trying a noise machine.
I use mine at night time. I do have one that I'm selling, some people find that they help, others don't.

How much are you selling your noise machine for?

£5 plus postage.
It is quite heavy as it has a glass ball on the top of it. Would need to weight it to get an accurate postage cost.

It can be a side effect of some prescription medicines so it might be worth him checking any he is taking to see if this is a listed side effect.

Botox is supposed to help! I had a brief bout of it last year (tinnitus, not botox)which thankfully hasn't recurred because it was just tortuous, and someone suggested botox. Not sure of the science behind it, frankly...

I have clients that suffer from this and I treat them with Thermal Auricular Therapy (ear candling) - has he tried this?
