Hey everyone.Just thouight I'd share this with you. DS2 has these pesky warty disgusting things under his arm. I am blitzing them with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream every night (my wonder cream)and they are going!!Hurray. Like everyone else my GP said leave them alone but they have been hanging around far too long.

God knows Twiglett. She developed it for her horses legs apparently! But it just works on EVERYTHING! Sunburn, shaving rash, dry skin, cuts, lips, molluscums...you name it! I love the stuff.

Crumbs, Spook, what a discovery! Sadly I don't have any EA - would Cold Creme do the trick?

Dd2 has an exploding molluscum tonight - if the red line reaches her elbow I guess her arm will drop off!

blossomhill · 01/07/2004 13:38

Is it expensive? I could really do with some of that for my dd, her poor legs are awful, covered in them - even her toes!

blossomhill · 03/07/2004 13:56

Sppok - bought some yesterday for £19. How long does it normally take to work.
Poor dd's molluscums have got really bad, all over her tummy and they are realy itchy. i would have paid £100, just to get rid of the horrible things!!!!

blossomhill · 04/07/2004 19:19

Spook - My dd's molluscums have got bigger since using the EA cream. Did this happen to you?

ghengis · 04/07/2004 19:35

Blossomhill and Spook,

Has the 8 hour cream been succesful yet? Am watching this with interest as DS has had them on his chest for about a year now and is NOT looking forward to people seeing them in the summer on the beach. Bless!

ghengis · 04/07/2004 20:46

bump

blossomhill · 04/07/2004 23:57

Ghengis - They just seem to have got bigger and redder, which I am not sure is a good sign. I have been using it twice a day since Sunday. Again I am not sure if this is right but they look so ugly and poor dd is really scratching as they are at the tops of her legs, on her stomach and even her bum. My ds had them for a year and the backs of his legs were covered, they vanished overnight!!!!

Blossonhill, my dd's molluscum get bigger and redder just before disappearing, so maybe your dd's are about to go away. I can't wait for the rest of my dd's 'blobs' to go.

ghengis · 05/07/2004 12:45

Okay, have been out and bought my 8 hour cream. Will begin experiment this evening!

janinlondon · 05/07/2004 13:50

There is a trial on molluscum treatment in children on at King's College Hospital London Dept of Dermatology right now. The doctor in charge is Dr Short and she is confident that her treatment works. You can get your GP to refer you if you want to take part. I am assured that the treatment is painless, though I haven't looked at the protocol myself. Hope this might help someone.

willow2 · 06/07/2004 14:33

Need an update please - just off to Boots!

blossomhill · 06/07/2004 17:22

Well...... Dd's certainly seem to be scabbing over (sorry) and hopefully they will drop off and disappear forever!!!! Have been using it since Sunday.

blossomhill · 09/07/2004 13:24

Updates anyone. My dd's have scabbed over so does that mean they will go? Also as Molluscums are viral will they come back as the virus is in them still???

suedonim · 09/07/2004 21:07

Ime, once they scab they're well on the way to disappearing forever, Blossomhill. One on dd's forehead has scabbed over this weekend - lovely! I'm not sure about the viral aspect, whther the bug is confined to the actual blob or whether it's in their system. I hope that once they've had it they're immune forever!

blossomhill · 09/07/2004 23:11

My dd has a really big one at the crease of her thigh. It is really itching and she has eczema around. poor little love I feel sorry for her Luckily the gp gave me some cream for it. Dd suffers with eczema anyway but it seems to be flaring up near the damn molluscums. I really hope that they are gone soon. Ds's disappeared overnight and then dd's started to appear!!!!

suedonim · 09/07/2004 23:35

That's interesting about the eczema as dd has reddish eczema across the area on her arm that has molluscum, even though she doesn't have any other eczema. Luckily, neither molluscum or ezcema seems to bother her.

That's bad news about the blooming things apparently transferring from one child to another - how annoying!

gloworm · 09/07/2004 23:44

curiousity has finally got the better of me...what is a molluscum??

shrub · 09/07/2004 23:49

my ds1 had molluscum under his arm which developed into eczema about 6 months ago. i took him to a homeopath after worrying about the steriod and anti-fungal creams the doctor gave him. the homeopath gave him sulphur 200c and 6 weeks later pustilla 200c. she told me to put nothing on it. i added lots of unrefined sea salt in his bath after reading on another thread that lots of children's eczema was cured after bathing in the sea on holiday and put some porridge oats in a sock and run it under the hot tap after another tip from mumsnet. its completely gone

hmb · 09/07/2004 23:55

Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection. It causes a rash of smalled raised lumps which are whitish in colour, and often have a small dimple in the middle of the lump. It is caused by a pox virus. The lumps can take an age to go; months or even years. Advice on what do do varies, but most docs will advise you to leave them alone. They are filled with a hard 'cheesy' substance. Sometimes they can become infected.

Dd had them for about 6 months and they went overnight. Odd things.

BlossomHill · 10/07/2004 00:12

Suedonim - Apparently you are more likely to get ezcema around molluscums, if your child is prone to ezcema anyway - which dd is. I just hope and pray they go soon, the tops of her legs are covered and even her bum cheeks - they look so uncomfortable and unsightly. I even asked the gp if they could be lasered and she said no as it would be too traumatic for a 4 year old!

BlossomHill · 10/07/2004 00:13

Thanks for that info Shrub, I'll def give the salt and porridge a try

BlossomHill · 10/07/2004 00:25
