Hey everyone.Just thouight I'd share this with you. DS2 has these pesky warty disgusting things under his arm. I am blitzing them with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream every night (my wonder cream)and they are going!!Hurray. Like everyone else my GP said leave them alone but they have been hanging around far too long.

oops, I'll try again!

molluscums

suedonim · 10/07/2004 00:57

That sounds so sore, Blossomhill, no wonder you want them to go away asap. Dd's are on her arm and face, nowhere that gets rubbed so it's just the unsightliness that's bothersome.

17yo dd1 is paranoid about catching it from dd2 and it's funny to see dd2 threatening big sis with her 'molluscs' tee hee! 'Molluscs' sounds like she's got snails attached to her, doesn't it?

BlossomHill · 10/07/2004 01:13

Suedonim - I never thought of snails but yeah it does sound like that doesn't it. They are gross though and I just want to squeeze then but dd freaks if I go anywhere near.
I can see why older dd is freaked out by having them Would do her street cred no good. TBH I doubt dd would get them anyway as she has built up an immune system.

suedonim · 10/07/2004 01:28

Lol re steet cred!

BlossomHill · 11/07/2004 01:29

Updates please!!!! I am not sure if I should carry on with the cream as dd's have all scabbed over and she is really itching them!

mc2 · 11/07/2004 01:43

My 3 year old dd had molluscum for about 6 months and they were spreading all over her legs and bottom and to her older sister and me.After 3 trips to 2 different doctors who said to wait it out I looked on the net and found www.notjustlavender.co.uk which sells a molluscum treatment blend of essential oils. After using it (5 mils in the bath and then dabbing each spot with it )religiously every night for 6 weeks they are virtually gone -a miracle !It makes a mess of the bath tho! I got through 2 1/2 bottles of it at £8.95 a bottle(inc p&p) so definately worth trying.Don't give up hope !

Three of dd's ones are nicely scabbed over today and they no longer feel as if they are full of gunge, so I think they'll be gone by the weekend. Once they reach this stage it seems to indicate it'll just be a few days more before they've gone.

janinlondon · 15/07/2004 13:11

Any update on this? Suedonim? Spook? Ghengis? Blossomhill????

suedonim · 15/07/2004 16:04

Dd's losing another one from her face, so she's just got two left on her arm and three or four small ones on her face. I shall be glad when they've all gone!!

janinlondon · 15/07/2004 16:27

Were you using the EA 8 hour cream or has it just come to the end of its run, so to speak?

suedonim · 15/07/2004 16:52

No, I'm not using cream or anything else, JanIL. She's had them for nearly two years so I guess it's just about burnt itself out. I think if it wasn't going by now I'd contact the Dr at KCH that you mention earlier in this thread.

BlossomHill · 18/07/2004 21:04

Well dd's have all scabbed over and seem to be be going (fingers crossed). I only used the cream for a few days.

Also, burnt my finger on my straighteners and used the EA cream. It has healed practically overnight!!!

willow2 · 24/07/2004 09:11

Updates please re eight hour cream - just about to order some!

Hi everyone.Sorry-I've not been ignoring this thread.I've been away. I haven't used the Eight Hour Cream for a week or two-mainly coz we were away and no bedtime routine etc. BUT-I am going to start again tonight. They were definately going-I will keep it up. But even if you disagree with my molluscum theory it's a wonder cream anyway.I slathered it all over my feet the other day and put cling film on them and thick socks and slept in them (obviously I am single and it was before the heatwave!!)My feet were lovely and soft the next morning!!

I know this is an old thread, but Shrub, where do you get unrefined sea salt from to put in the bath. I'm at my wits end with poor dd1s skin.

earlygirl · 28/08/2004 19:31

if anyone else is going to buy 8 hour cream you can get it online for about £11 from halfpriceperfumes (wicked site!)
dont really know what this thread is about(molluscums??though you ate them!!) but would tea tree cream work or calendula cream

earlygirl · 28/08/2004 19:32

unrefined sea salt have you tried health food shop?

batey · 28/08/2004 21:40

No, not yet. will give it a go though. Thanks.

binkie · 06/11/2004 21:01

Blossomhill, it was your dd with eczema and molluscum, am I right? Did the eczema react at all to the 8-hour cream - as in, did it make it any worse?

Ds's system seems to have suddenly decided to deal with his molluscum, so each bump is surrounded by a fierce patch of eczema, specially his inner thighs, poor chap. I've only been using aqueous cream, and a bit of tea tree lotion for the molluscums, but maybe I should do more for him. He's not complaining but it does look horrid.

pixiefish · 06/11/2004 21:05

Poor thing. dd has the dreded molluscum- it's really horrid- she scratches the ones on her chest like mad and I'm scared that the eczema that's on her face will flipping spread to her body and add to the molluscum. Never did get round to the EA- has it made a difference- I'm just usng Bach's rescue cream to ease the itching on her chest

binkie · 08/11/2004 14:52

bump for blossomhill - please?

codswallop · 08/11/2004 14:53

my ea cream having no effect

loobyloo2 · 11/11/2004 14:09

Help!!!! I am at my wits end, both of my daughters have molliscum. The eldest has has it for nearly 2 years and there appears to be more and more coming, rather than them going. and the youngest who has ezcema as well had about 25 just on her tummy, all coming in last few week. Doctor said leave them alone, but just getting bigger. Please has anybody any tips of how to get rid of these horrid things..

janinlondon · 11/11/2004 15:21

loobyloo2 where are you? King's College Hospital London Dermatology Department will treat unless they are on the face - everything from the jawline down. We have been helping with a trial for them over the last few months. Are you in London?
