DS2 is 6 months, and seems to have a sickness bug. He threw up his afternoon milk feed, and then all his pear that he ate for tea. Now he's retching.

I haven't dealt with this before - do I still offer him milk at bedtime? I will sleep in with him in case he's sick in the night as well.

Hate sick, feel really nervous, esp if DS1 gets it.

Hi, the same is happening to my DD2 who is 2yrs old. She has been throwing up since Tuesday night and today has just laid on the settee and slept loads in her bed.
I stopped giving her milk since she started throwing up and only have given her sips of boiled tepid water but she trows up even on that!
Normally she is a little whirlwind and its so upsetting to see her so lethargic.
As your baby is so young i would contact NHS direct tomorrow if she is no better as little babies can get dehydrated very fast.
There is a lot of winter vomiting virus going around at the moment as i've had it but not as bad as my DD2.
Just hoping that DH and DD1 (4yrs) don't get it now as well as i'll be the one nursing them all when i still feel grotty.

thanks, I did offer him some, but he just chucked it back up. I will def contact the doc or NHS tomorrow if he carries on. Poor thing.

I'm no expert, but I believe the advice for a baby is that BF is fine, but formula/cows milk should be replaced with water.....

thanks all. He did wake a few times in the night screaming and took some water, which he kept down. He's managed to keep his milk down this morning, and a little breakfast so hopefully on the mend. Fingers crossed we aren't all ill by this afternoon!!
