As you may have seen from other threads, I'm involved in a campaign at the moment looking for a stem cell donor for my friend Ruby (www.registerforruby.com) but I came across the figures below.
It seems extraordinary to me that more mothers aren't given this choice. I certainly wasn't - apparently only 5 hospitals in the U.K. offer cord blood collection.
A petition has been started on this issue (www.change.org/p/jeremy-hunt-secretary-of-state-offer-every-mother-the-opportunity-to-save-a-life-through-cord-blood-donation) asking Central government, the NHS and the NMC to look at this issue. I'd really encourage you to read, sign and share.
