A right pain in the boob!

Hi All,

I've had the odd twinge in one of my breasts but this last week it's been fairly constant and at some points painful.
I do struggle with yoyo-big weight and I have polycystic ovaries.
I'be got a dr appt but it's not until next week.
Anyone else had this? If so, what was it?

I have pain in one boob almost all of the time. It's a twinge or a throb or a combination of the 2.

Dr reckons it's hormonal. I've had it checked and had 2 mammograms after being referred - nothing found.

Watching this thread as I have similar one-sided pain. Period due this weekend though so I am waiting until after to phone GP as my breasts are very sore due to pmt so can't face having them prodded at the mo.

I had one sided boob pain a few years ago and was duly sent to breast clinic (obviously then hit google and diagnosed myself with all sorts ). They did an ultrasound and checked for lumps (none) and sent me away with a leaflet about mastalgia - apparently 9 out of 10 ladies attending the breast clinic present with pain and the majority are purely hormonal. Leaflet advised evening primrose at high doses. Funnily enough, once I was told it was nothing to worry about, the pain pretty much stopped (stress related too?). They did conclude that the left breast in which I was feeling the pain is very fibrous (it was the same breast i leaked mASSIVELy whilst breast feeding / got mastitis in / is the slightly larger breast of the 2).

Fast forward 2.5 years and I have recently had a different type of pain in the same breast - this time a stabbing from behind the nipple. I have checked for lumps and there are all sorts of lumps and bumps in there (goes with the fibrous diagnoses) so i've started up on the evening primrose for now and no stabbing pain for over a month. I saw GP 2 weeks ago and he said breast tissue feels fine, but I think I might go back anyway and ask for another referral to be on safe side.

ANy pain is worth having a thorough check, but rest assured the vast majority are purely hormonal.

I too get these pain behind nipples but also arm neck and shoulder pain along with that. Had a mammogram and it was clear. Consultant told that the nipple and breast pain was in all probability a nerve pain which was also causing my shoulder and arm pain on the same side as the same nerves go thru these areas.
