Throat sore when swallowing, dangly bit feels swollen - what might it be?

My throat looks a bit red and the dangly bit at the back looks swollen (although I'm not a medic so I'm not 100% sure it is swollen)...

Throat feels obstructed in some way. And hurts when I swallow.

Also have mild fever.

Any ideas what this sounds like?

Possibly tonsillitis or could just be part of a virus. If your fever becomes higher and you have white stuff on your tonsils you might need antibiotics.

Tonsillitis

I'd say uvulitis and or tonsillitis. DH had uvulitis and it was horrible. His uvula swelled up so much he felt like he was choking. I'd get to the docs to see if you need antibiotics.

Did you burn your uvela over the weekend on something hot? Your symptoms are exactly what I felt when I burned myself badly. It resolved on its own after a few days.
