Any idea what this could be...GROSS PIC INCLUDED

I've been feeling generally unwell since the 6th January but as I had not been getting better I thought I'd make a Doctors Appointment. They have no appointments until 1st February!!! I have a sore throat and a stiff feeling neck. I keep sweating and coughing up phlegm. I feel literally drained. Anyway this afternoon I coughed this up...any ideas on what could be wrong? I know this isn't a medical site but don't want to visit out of hours doctors if it's just a cold! Ps the dirty jar lid was in my car and I had nothing else to hand!!

Hmm not sure thats s tonsil stone plug.

No helpful advice, id say see a Dr if you're coughing anything up other than phlegm

Ring the GP surgery, tell them your symptoms and say you've just coughed up a lump of flesh, I'd be surprised if they didn't fit you in! . Did you cough up any blood or taste blood?

Does it stretch if you pull it? I get similar stuff from my sinuses and it comes down my throat from the back of my nose so it can feel like it's been coughed up.

Warning... detailed post!!!! I have the exact same thing. I've tonsilitis and keep coughing up blood tinged fleshy lumps. Def not phlegm and the only thing I can describe it as is like tiny slivers or lumps of raw chicken fillet. Freaked out to say the least as alot has actually come up. It seems to be coming from between my nose and throat.

I recovered normally and it stopped as well. After thinking about it, it seems it may have been the throat sloughing off a layer after all the coughing trauma, but I never had a doctor assess it.

Has anyone been told what these pieces of flesh are from? I too, had this to happen. It's definitely meaty like raw chicken. I can't see my dr till next week. I have an infection in my throat & esophagus, so I am worried.

I just had this happen and was looking through google images hoping it wasn’t a tumor because I used to heavily use nicotine products the past 3 years. Still hoping to hear about this to know what’s going on with me

Did anyone ever get an answer? I coughed up a similar fleshy lump today, like raw chicken with a bit of a bloody tinge, and I’m here thinking the worst cause I can’t find much on the internet.

Made a doctors appointment for next week week but would be interested to hear of anyone else ever found out what it was!
I didn’t have a persistent cough or anything, but could feel a slight sting/congestion behind my sinuses.

Looks like bile. Shouldn't have blood on it though!

I had a similar experience after a bout with Strep. This makes me wonder if you had strep throat which could explain this phenomenon. The strep kills tissue in the tonsils which came dislodged after a while and you hacked up. It could also be a piece of tongue. Did you recently suffer tongue trauma prior to the event. The tongue will heal rapidly and any piece which you bit hard enough can fall of or become lodged in the tonsils' sacks. I need more info but it seems this is what the mass of flesh looks like.

Legit I JUST coughed up the same thing but it was bigger, my tonsils are inflamed and I have sinus infection have for about 10+ days but taken too many antibiotics in my lifetime they won’t work. Does any one know what it is?? Idk if I should be concerned
