How do they screen for male breast cancer?

ds1 (teenager) has just been referred for tests. Anyone with recent experience of what tests are likely to be needed. Am assuming they can't do mammograms (he is fairly slim). There is a lump but if ultrasound looks fine would they still need to do a biopsy. Need to prepare him as to what to expect.

Is the lump behind the nipple?

Yes, in that region anyway. I realise anything sinister is extremely unlikely given his age and sex and went to the GP to reassure him as much as anything. It would just help to reduce his anxiety if I could tell him what they might do. He has lots of anxiety (diagnosed AS) and although I know what they would do for a women diagnosed with BC having had it myself I just don't want to alarm him about tests that might not be needed.
