DD2 is 3 days old, how much longer do I have to wait until her umbilical cord falls off?

Use them as needles when knitting lentils.

Cord takes up to 10 days to fall off usually

Don't get too excited - DD still had hers firmly attached at 17 days...

I reckon they probably stew them with the placenta.

when DTDs were on specvial care there was a baby being treated for drug withdrawal who was going straight into care. The mother picked the cord off after a few days just so she had a keepsake . Unfortunately the baby got a nasty infection at the site and then had to stay in a few extra days.
