Hi I'm a MN 1st timer, but I just needed to see if anyone was going thru the same thing. In the past 10 months since our darling boy arrived following a long stressful labour (36 hours + emergency c section) I have -

  • contracted MRSA in the hospital post c-section
  • cold, after cold
  • had a miscarriage in Nov
  • (proper) flu at Christmas and now have
  • tonsilitis.

On top of this, our little one has had collic, broncholitis and gastroenteritis. That's not to mention the various coughs and colds that come with going to nursery.

Sleep during his ill phases are not great to say the least and although my partner is fab through the day, night duty is not his speciality.

I am now back at work and I am run down and exhausted. This is the 4th time I've been put on some serious antibiotics recently and I wondered if there are any coping techniques or advice other mums might have.

I'm shattered and in 10 months I've gone from an energic person to a worn out mummy. Please help

Can you be signed off work sick? I think you need to get better before you can work on your immunity IYSWIM.

I have self-cert'd myself this week, but hope to go back to work next week all being well.

I looked up nhs direct and it said the normal - good diet, no caffine, good amounts of sleep, don't smoke and exercise. besides from not getting enough exercise and not getting tonnes of sleep cos of little one ... I'm wondering about maybe supplements or alternative therapies that might help ..
