This came out of me..I'm scared **Graphic image warning**

Hi.. I'm ringing the doctors tomorrow as yesterday this came out of me and the doctors are shut for bank holiday.. it's my first real period since having a baby 4 months ago.. I have felt sick and run down for days slept as much as possible and I've had stomach pains however they haven't been agonising they have been bareable. I've never seen anything like it.. I'm really scared as to what it could be.. does anyone have any ideas of have seen anything similar themselves? I know for sure I couldn't of been pregnant due to my stitching coming open after i was stitched I haven't been able to have sex as I'm waiting to be stitched back up. I'm sorry for the graphic unpleasant picture. I'm very worried and I'm hoping someone can help me. Thank you very much!:)

Not a medical professional but could it be part of the placenta? Definitely get in to see the doc tomorrow. Any pain at all and have you been feeling well in yourself? Also, how long did post birth bleeding last?

You may want to get this moved to a childbirth/postnatal board where someone might have more of an answer for you, but didn't want to read and run.

I'm sure of seen something like this online before, and it was the entire lining of the uterus I think.

I'm so sorry I've never posted before.. I didn't know there was seperate sections for seperate subjects. I'm very sorry!
I bled for approx 3 weeks.. my baby was induced and delivered by forceps therfore the placenta was pulled out with forceps too.. I'm really sorry I will repost on a seperate subject if I know how. I'm very sorry you had to see that. Thank you

Okay. First off, hugs to you OP. I'm not squeamish. Looked on madison's link and there are similarities. Hopefully a gynae or nurse will be along in a minute to reassure. Hope it goes okay at the doctor's tomorrow Brew

It does look like you've shed part of your uterine lining. It's actually not uncommon and you don't need to worry unnecessarily. However, in light of the fact that you feel unwell, I would recommend seeing your doctor tomorrow.

If you experience a high fever and heavy blood loss, ring NHS direct for advice (111) tonight.

dont apologise op, its obvious it wouldnt have been your average zit as you said youre scared, i think we'd all rather feel a bit "eeeek!" if it means someone can help another who is clearly worried about something down there Smile

it does look like madisons link, if it was the placenta i imagine you would have known well hefore now. docs first thing or hv?

Totally looks like decidual cast, this has happened to me once, totally shat it.
See Dr anyway but unless you have signs of infection, bad smell, high temp, pain etc I would try not to worry.

Oh you poor soul, that must have been so scary for you.
Don't worry about where you posted, anyone can tell from your post how upset you are.

I hope the GP puts your mind at rest tomorrow, be sure to tell them that you have felt poorly all this time.

As a pp says if you develop a high temperature or have heavy blood loss ring for advice straight away.

Hope all goes well for you at the GP.

If you've still got it, keep it (put it in a plastic bag and then in a sandwich box and out it in the fridge -sorry!)
Looks like it's probably a decidual cast (I've had one too and it freaked me out), but it's worth getting checked.

I was going to say decidual cast too, before even opening the thread.

I had one a few years ago after going back on the pill after having DS1. They're common apparently when your hormones change rapidly (so hormonal contraceptives, first period after baby etc). I was terrified too at the time, and helpfully my doctor hadn't even heard of one before so thought miscarriage - it was only when I googled that I found out what it was.

If I go off the pill I can get huge clots in my periods. Mine are usually smaller than that but looks like the same kind of tissue - fleshy and gross. It's uterine lining. As above you can shed the whole thing at once sometimes... I think it's to do with the body not having enough time to do the declotting. Anyhow, I wouldn't get yourself in too much of a tizz, I'm sure your body is just resetting itself. Hopefully your doc will put your mind at ease.

Giant clot day is usually the painful day. You may find there isn't much bleeding or pain now (fingers crossed).

No need to apologise. See gp asap, and take it with you, or just the picture.
If you get a fever, severe pain, or heavy bleeding ( more than one normal pad in an hour), you need to be seen tonight.

I lost a lot of tissue (and blood) after an 18 week loss. I was at my mams who panicked and rang 111.

I ended up in an ambulance (more for the blood loss there was a lot) everything turned out ok and it was just my body expelling everything. It was terrifying at the time.

Wow!! I'd say placenta too - I believe they usually check the placenta to ensure it's all out at birth ... but could have been missed. Certainly when I've miscarried tissue I've had a temperature and cramping - even a month after the miscarriage as some tissue wasn't lost initially - perhaps it's residual from your birth if you've not had sex yet
Definitely go to the doctors asap as there may be More left behind

WARNING : graphic picture

I'm really worried this thing just came out of me and I have no idea what it was. I had my second miscarriage in December 2017 and things haven't been right since. Periods are all over the place and instrumental bleeding and cramps. Night before last the bleeding got really heavy and I had agonising cramps. I then had no bleeding and all of a sudden passed...whatever it is.

It's quite heavy, fleshy but hard like the end of your nose, no smell...any ideas?

I'll go to the GP Tuesday after bank holiday. Just really worried.

If you feel unwell it's worth tuning NHS Direct to get advice before Tuesday.
