Lookslike chicken pox.... or is it?

Got home from work tonight to a spotty 3 (almost 4) year old. A few spots on her chest / stomache and a couple on her face. Nanny thinks it's chicken pox. But the don't itch, and she has noe fever and is otherwise perfectly well. She has been a bit on tired/crabby side the last day or two.... but the she is three and often acts like this.

Do you think it's chicken pox?

And if it is, do I need to take her to the GP to verify? I must admit I quite fancy a day off tomorrow. But, it will be my last day of holiday this year and that means I won't be able to take her birthday off next month. And my plan on the birthday is a trip to Legoland. So, I think she'd probably rather I went to work so she can go to Legoland. (she doesn't know about Legoland but I think if she did she'd choose to go there and me to go to work tomorrow)

Sounds like it could be, by morning you will know . dd wasn't unwell as such just spotty ! Would n't bother with gp unless you are unsure or she is very unwell,otherwise you'll pass it around .

What? No one else has any insight about whether chicken pox has entered my house?

It does sound like chicken pox. Doctors won't confirm unless there's about 15 spots and even then they don't do anything, just advise camomile and all that malarky. When DS had it he didn't itch. Are they blistering? They do not stop being contagious until the last spot has crusted over so depending on your work arrangements you might need more than one day off. All we did with ds was pop the camomile on him and just keep him comforted. He was just a bit tired etc for a couple of days and then fine. Can't remember him having fever though.

We have a nanny. So she can look after her. But, I usually draw a line and take her myself if the doctor is required. But, now, I'm thinking the doc would just be a big waste of time. I think I'll give the nanny instructions to to head off to the chemist first thing and procure calamine lotion, cmomile (what is this for? a lotion? does it stop itching?) and maybe some oatmeal (aveeno) bath stuff and I'll go to work.

I think I'll also see try and share the pox with DS... hey, no point in doing this twice.
