TMI .....both of us smell after sex ??!!

Me and my Boyfriend have been together for nearly six months and for the last few months I've noticed that we both smell fishy after sex ? He had mentioned it once when he could smell it on himself.any idea what it could be ?

What contraception do you use?

Bacterial vaginosis? Just a bacterial imbalance not an STI. Your GP can treat it with antibiotics. Decomposing speed can smell a bit the next bday but if it's strong and soon after sex then likely to be BV

You can get a swab done to confirm it.
Some GPs/clinics will treat on history alone.

Beware, the most commonly used antibiotic (Flagyl/Metronidazole) really does not mix with alcohol (severe vomiting).

You can treat BV at home with gel from the super market. I think it's called balance activ?

I was thinking bv too.so is it just me that needs to be treated and in turn he will be better ?

Yes, if it is BV only you need to be treated.

Those pessaries work well btw.
Also Flagyl can be prescribed as a single dose.

I started the balance ativ gel nearly a week ago and it seemed to be working but last night we had sex and the smell is back again !! We use a mixture of pulling out and condoms ....he doesn't like them but will do if i really insist . Should we stop having sex altogether while I use the gel or see a gp ? Ugh !

I must admit that if i use amphetamines during sex i do get a burny fishy smell in my nostrils..its probably just that

You could drop into conversation that, while he isn't keen on condoms, you might go off sex quite a bit anyway once you get pregnant - which is looking fairly likely with the withdrawal method. See if that changes his view on condoms...
