rash around mouth

Help can anybody suggest what can be done to discourage my nearly 6 year old DD from licking around her mouth with her tongue. The area around her mouth is red and very sore but she can not seem to stop.

Its probably dry and sore now so she licks even more to try ans soothe it.
Try some lipbalm and get her to apply it often when she would normally lick.
