Paracetamol plus & ibuprofen don't even begin to touch the pain and it's just unbearable for the 24 hours I have it and it's making me so miserable living in fear of it coming on. So I just want something I know I can take when it comes on that will kill the pain? Thanks

Codeine is better.

As someone who has had 2 frozen shoulders I would suggest ice packs .If that sounds unbearable ( it isn't honestly ) then alternate with heat and finish on an ice .

And sounds like you should get it treated .I found private physio best .

If you end up with diclonfenac from GP please make sure you take a PPI ( omeprazole/ranatadine ) to protect your stomach .

Good luck ,it's no fun I know .

I second private physio. I had a course of acupuncture which I previously never believed in but it did the trick for me.

otherstuff thinking about it and re reading your post it sounds as though you get periods of intense pain which come and go .

I'm not sure that is typical of a frozen shoulder where you ( or mine anyway) hurt all the time but the excruciating pain is limited to when it's jarred or you've tried to use it .

So thinking you should see GP or go straight to private physio.

Acupuncture - pref with a physio who can integrate it into other treatments. I would never have believed in acupuncture until I had it when I really would have cheerfully chopped my arm off (no joke btw, morphine didn't touch it) and it damped the pain down for a couple of hours at a time. I've since had a number of courses of treatment for tennis elbow and a stuck shoulder and it was amazing
