High energy food for diarrhoea

I hope someone can offer some help. I developed a nasty stomach bug at the weekend and have barely eaten since Friday night. If I dare to eat l am soon in the loo, and was up for literally hours in the night because I dared some white rice and egg last night.

Problem is I am starving, and I am breastfeeding a 2 month old. I barely have the energy to look after her today, plus am afraid of what is happening to my milk.

Does anyone have advice on high energy food that might not send me running to the toilet?

You could try something from the BRAT diet, recommended after an upset stomach. Stands for banana, rice, apple sauce (or stewed apple) and toast. Rice on its own might be ok. Oh and full sugar coke, leave it in a glass for a bit so it's not so fizzy. Maybe try some rehydration sachets? I suspect fluid intake is extra important as you're breastfeeding.

Make sure you drink plenty. These are really soothing to the digestive system:

Peppermint tea
Ginger tea
Chamomile tea
Water
Sparkling water
Warm almond milk with a little honey and cinnamon

Hope you feel better soon
