I've got that weird dizzy thing we had threads about before

I'm sure it is to do with having mucous in my ears, as we ahve all had this cold/cough thing, but the last couple of nights I have not been able to sleep because every time I turn over / move my head, i feel this weird dizzy sensation. It wears off a couple of hours after I get up.

I've had it before and I'm sure there were threads about it as it seemed to be a virus going round.

Anyway, what I want to know is did anyone find anything to take which helped?

I was wondering about sea sickness tablets?

i am desperate for some sleep tonight.

If it's vertigo caused by an ear infection, you can get tablets from your GP that help. Sympathy, it's horrid.

Mum has given me some stugeron & i'm going to try it tonight.

My mom had this dizzy virus a couple of months ago,her gp gave her some tablets for the dizziness as she felt so awful.Without meaning to pee you off,she still has it on/off now.

Sounds like labyrinthitis which is horrid horrid horrid.

Travel pills may help, but I was given something much stronger on prescription, and tbh was very very ill with it.

Pelvicfloornomore, there are exercises to get rid of it, which involve headshaking and rolling eyes round, and other stuff, it is a form of physio. They are called Cawthorne-Cooksey exercises and you can download them.

HTH

Deja flu?

Frayed knot, opening your eyes when you turn over may help.

Poor little brain when it is addled with dizziness doesn't understand when you turn over with eyes shut.

Can you tell I'm, a fecking expert on this or what! I had to go into hospital I was so ill with it!

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2007 21:51

Ahh Fizzbuzz I haven;t got it that badly..sounds awful.

I had a much better night after the stugeron and I'm going to take it again tonight. i did have it a bit this morning but not as bad.

Also think ti helped not being in the same bed as DH - no rocking around every 10 mins as he coughs / sneezes - he has got a streaming cold.

Am camped out in the spare room.

I still think it must be ear related.

Try shaking your head from side to side really fast about 10 times.

You have little crystals in your ears, and dizziness can be caused by them floating around.

Head shaking helps them settle. Sounds stupid, but works
