dd has been complaining of toothache in her lower back molar since sunday. it started really suddenly, she just started crying (proper tears) and complaining of toothache. Dosed her all up with painkillers and took her to the dentist on monday. He couldnt see anything wrong and took an xray which was clear and gave her some antibiotics in case there was an abcess. He said if it didnt get beeter, she might need to have the tooth out as there might be a problem under her filling.
well it isnt really any better yet, still has periods of being really upset about it hurting and needing nurofen.
Thing is she is really phobic about the dentist, took 10 minutes crying to persaude her to have the xray, the filling involved a trip to a special clinic for sedation (which was hideous) and Im loathe to go through having the tooth out if the dentist isnt even sure thats the problem
Do you think it could be ear ache-shes adamant its not?
any bright ideas?

Is she gringing her teeth? or clenching?

Neither would show on xray.

Are you sure it's not her jaw that hurts? She may have clenched or bit on something hard.

thanks
No not grinding or clenching
just getting worn down by her waking up 3 times a night crying, and I feel really sorry for her.
