Lumpy freckle on DS's leg

My DS (2) has had a not bad sized freckle on the back of his leg for as long as I can remember.
In the last couple of weeks he got what looked like a white lump in the middle of it. I thought that it was a spot and would go away.
Its still there and it seems to be spreading long ways and feels like 1cm long thin thing.
Its very hard to get a good look as he won't really let me near it.
Im going to make a GP appointment for him today, am obviously bricking it.
Any wise words, anyones child had this and it was nothing, really looking for reassurance

It may be a cyst or something that just happens to be on a feckle i'm sure it's nothing serious at this age.

When I was in my 20s, I went as far as having a mole removed cos it had changed and was looking very strange. The tests showed it was fine though, so yes, get it checked out but don't go worrying about it. Will probably come to nothing.

No point speculating until the doc's had a look I suppose.
