Chicken Pox Questions

Do kids getting chicken pox get sick before the spots come out?
Dd was with her cousin for the weekend before last and we found out the day after that she has chicken pox so was watching out for any appearance.

Today dd is running a high temp and is really under the weather.
Could this be the start of CP or does it always start with the spots?

It certainly could, a high temp is quite common before the spots appear.

yes, CP often starts with a fever and feeling under the weather.

Yes it could be. It usually starts with temp and general feeling of being unwell before spots come out upto a few days before. Runny nose and dry cough often too.

Both of my children had a high temperature and were under the weather the day before the spots appeared. I reckon you will see some spots in the next day or two.

You'd better stock up on piriton, calomile cream/lotion and whatever else you think you might need.

Thanks everyone Will stock up on medication then!
