Is this *just* a cold?

DD and I have both been a bit poorly. She seemed to be a day or so behind me symptom wise.

Started with blocked nose and feeling bunged up
Progressed to bad cough
Then sore throat (I did, I think she did as she sounded quite hoarse)
sticky / weepy eyes (mine worse, could not open my eye one morning and they feel itchy, but not red, cannot comment on her as she cant talk but they dont appear red)

A week on, we both are still bunged up / sore throats etc.

However, we both have funny marks on our legs, and her on the back of her neck just under the hair line. They're raised bumps, slightly red, not spots, dont hurt. I dont know what they are. Mine are on the front of my leg, hers is at the back of hers and just under her neck.

What do you think?

HI Elf
Strange you should mention this, but I've noticed wee bumps on DD's back, and she is pretty bad-temepred which is unusual for her.

I intially thought it was a reaction to something she'd eaten, but it's still here the next day. Maybe some kind of virus?

Hi RTL, how are you?
My CM thinks it is possibly eczema but I'm not sure, I've never had it before and I have it on my leg too. It hasn't gone down today, going to see how she goes after her cold symptoms go as she's still all snotty and miserable.

Doing ok, working too hard, so never have time to come on here now

I suspect DDs rash is the begginnings of chicken pox! What do you think? I've been on a googling frenzy but can only find pics over the blisters not the rash beforehand.

Have you had chicken pox?

ELF1981 · 15/02/2007 17:31

I have had it. My mum thought chicken pox / measles too. I read a book on it and it seemed to suggest measles, but I thought you get an all over rash. My mum told me to google images of chicken pox / measles and compare!

Dont work too hard

Mmmmm, now you mention it the rash looks a wee bit like shingles. Can kids get shingles instead of chickne pox??
