Hi, I haven't been well since last week with originally a throat infection then a kidney infection. I saw a gp last WEdnesday and he gave me antibiotics, which helped the sore throat within a couple of days (but not the kidney but that's another story!) DH now has a lot of the same symptoms and has large white blisters at the back of his throat as well as nausea and fatigue. He saw his gp this morning and was just advised to take paracetamol and rest. He's not sure if the blisters were there this morning or not. Do the white blisters indicate tonsilitis? If so, what's the best treatment? Would he need antibiotics?

TIA

White stuff on the tonsils is an indication of tonsilitis. I had anitibiotics and it cleared up withnt 48 hours.

Sounds like a throat infection to me. Gargle with soluble aspirin or paracetamol, throat lozenges such as Merocaine which are anaesthetic and antibacterial. If it is bacterial rather than viral he would really need antibiotics. Lots of fluids and rest.

Hoep you both feel better soon
