Hi there,
Would love a response !Have been prescribed Neurontin (Gabapentin) from an oral pain specialist for pain in jaws/across nose/glands sore.It can last for weeks at a time then no pain.I cannot find any helpful info on these tablets on line from a dental perspective and beginning to wonder about them.....Anyone ever take them? Thank you

Have you looked at trigeminal neuralgia? There's a long term thread on here about it where posters talk about their meds and other things. Maybe have a search.

I took them for a while (migraine). They didn't help me. But I know that others have found them to be very helpful.

What is it you're wondering though? Do you think your specialist is having you on?

CotswoldStrife · 04/11/2016 21:08

They are commonly used for nerve pain, not specifically dental pain. I have taken them for trigeminal neuralgia.

Is the pain just on one side of your face, left or right? Is there anything that triggers the pain?

seoda24 · 04/11/2016 21:23

Cannot pin point what triggers it.Pain is at both sides of jaws, across nose , feeling of fullness below ears/glands.Sinus scan clear. Also have added misery of multiple allergies so I am not straight forward!Thank you for the link, will read the thread and as I said, we learn lots here too.
