cheeecken pox

My dd has got chicken pox, and has been fine with it.. But tonight, when we were cleaning her teeth I noticed this enormous white/pale grey ulcer like thing on the gum at the front of her bottom teeth. Hideous and frightening and she wouldn't show me again, so I couldn't get a proper look. I know that you can get the spots in your mouth, but this seemed huge? Has anyone dd/ds had chicken pox spots in their mouth, and what did they look like? Its a wierd question for a Friday evening, but I thought I'd see if anyone knew!

Hi, yes my dd had chicken pox in her mouth, a large white spot, she found it very painful. It's not a nice place to have them. Maybe bonjela would help? My dd would't let me put anything into her mouth.

Thanks - I think dd will be the same and run for her life if I try and go near her mouth armed with bonjela. I might try a sneaky late night mission whilst she's asleep.

I wouldn't try it when she's asleep - if you touch the spot , it may encourage it to hurt more, and you don't want her waking up! It does only last for 2 or 3 days, if that.

True - maybe we'll just ride it out with medised and calpol - thanks for the advice..

DD didn't have reams of spots, but they did get everywhere - loads in her mouth, but they didn't seem to bother her. I'd just keep an eye on the ones in the fanjo area, as poor DDs got infected (I think from where we wiped after she'd been to the toilet) and caused her huge amounts of pain until the ABs kicked in.

She has LOTS there, really horrid ones, so I will keep an eye on them - thanks. I've spent today getting her hand out of her pants as she scratches the spots.
