A triangular section of your boob where the duct is blocked goes bright red and very hard. You feel like you have awful flu. I had it in August and, despite the heat, I was on the sofa with a fleece and 2 duvets and still felt cold.

does it feel like someone has red hot poker on your nipple??

Really sore boob, boob looks red and 'liney' flu like aches, temperature, feel generally yuk.

Are you feeling bad LTH?

Ibruprofen helps but if you have a temp you might need antibiotics too.

Oh yes claricebean- you do get the shivers. DH thought I had malaria when I had a bad bought with ds3 - really hard to get warm.

I feel like shite TBH but I don't think that just the boob pain...

Boob pain might be the start, drink lots, keep expreesing the sore one (sorry it will be sore) Rest (haha) you might nip it in the bud.

If it's just the nipple rather than a whole section of the breast, it sounds more like thrush or some other infection. I had a staphlococcus infection when bf DD1, as well as the mastisis. Are you in touch with a BF counsellor?
