Oh dear. At least her teeth will be clean
I'm surprised she ate any, I wouldn't imagine they taste very nice.
I guess there is only a tiny bit of detergent in the amount she ate as they are made up of salt as well nowadays.

My ds ate handfuls of cat food when he was 5 months. Rang Whiskers who said it was fine for human consumption! Didn't deter him, had the feed the cat outside for a while.

be careful

dishwasher stuff is the most dangerouse stuff that most of us keep in our homes
but if you have spoken to the Dr then do what Dr suggests

It happens. Not point beating yourself about it. The things I have stopped ds from doing shock even me. (and I let him fall off a hotel bed when he was 4 months and landed straight onto his head. Ambulance called, he all floppy and drowsy, me panicking. Get into ambulance and he gave the driver a big cheesy smile and he was fine. Still had to got to hospital though. Feel like a crap mum? me? no why do you ask?)
Be glad you don't use the fairy ones with the liquid stuff otherwise she would have had a mouth full of rinse aid.

I suspect you need a nice cup of tea to get over the shock and a chocolate biscuit as a reward for noticing what she was doing before she ate too much.

Dd2 bit in to a dishwasher tablet and was sick straight away, i phoned NHS direct who told me to give her lots to drink. she was fine.

DD ate a dishwasher tablet once, and spat it out straighaway, no problems, and DS's favourite game currently is helping put the tablets in the dishwasher daily and he has probably had a little bit on occasion with no longlasting problem.
I think rinse aid however is a diffeent kettle of fish, and to be kept out of the way.

ds1 eats dishwasher tablets given half the chance and handfuls of washing powder (he used to open the drawer and scrape off the remains- we now use liquitabs!) He's never been ill on it, and has been doing it for years. God knows how he stands the taste- I think he likes the texture.
