or not?

it cleared up last week after 2 lots of antibiotics and eye drops.yesterday he was off his food and one eye looked red underneath it.this morning the other eye was caked in glunk! aghhh

he seems happy enough but dont know if it will come back full blown,

tbh il feel a bit of a pratt ringing docs again, ive had both boys up there so much over the last 2 years. my doctor calls me clare and the receptionist know me from my voice on the phone

I would wait a bit longer and see what happens with it. Was a swab taken when he was treated last time?

eidsvold · 06/02/2007 08:49

could you try bathing his eye with warm salty water... worked fab for me. I just bathed eye wiped away gunk with cloth that I then put straight into wash basket... so as not to spread the infection.

didnt have swab taken, think il wait then till later and see if it gets worse

If it persists i would ask for a swab to get done. What age is your DS? It isn't uncommon to get a gunky eye repeatedly because of a blocked tearduct which often resolves itself.

hes 2.3 years mears

Unlikely to have blocked tearduct then. If it doesn't clear over next couple of days I would take him back to the doctor and get a swab done initially. In the meantime clean it with coled boiled water (with a bit of salt if you like).
