When do adult teeth come through?

I've had a good old nosey through the archives and can only find threads on when is it normal for baby teeth to fall out.
How long does it take for adult teeth to come through after a baby has come out?
Ds has just pulled his 2nd bottom tooth out and is happily prodding the rather large gap!!
I know that he's young for his teeth to come out (not even 5 yet) but he's beginning to look very gappy!

first adult teeth to come in are normally lower incisors and come in average at 6 years old. If your lo's baby teeth are falling out it is reasonable to expect new adult tooth to emerge in the next month or so...as baby teeth only fall out due to adult teeth causing root resorption of the baby tooth and then the tooth falls out. Adult tooth will come in soon....DON' T WORRY!

Thanks for that!! He's been sitting there all day playing with the gap, sliding straws through it, poking his tongue through it etc.
