My dd is 8 and weighs 3stone 10, she is slim and has ribs poking out all over the place but i dont think she is too thin and am not concerned as i was even thinner as a child and as an adult i am 2 stone over weight.

this is interesting. I was shocked recently when I went to get dd (7 in May) some school uniform and the age 4 stuff was too big round teh waist for her. I had always thought that she was happy and healthy and hadn't worried. but that started me off. She's about 18kg - which is less than 3 stone. minor hi-jack but does anyone have an opinion on whether I should be worried?

just found this - i know BMI is a crude tool but it looks worth a bit of a read

hatwoman that does sound light. My 5 (almost 6) yo weighs about 45lbs. Is she quite short also?

dd2(9) is average height, weighed 9lb 4 at birth and was a little chumpster until about 18 months. She's very fussy about food (doesn't like things mixed for eg) but does eat like a horse, loves cakes & chocolate (we have to watch sugar consumption) and has just moved up into age 5-6 knickers. She can still get into some pjs she had at age 3 (her favourites, desperately trying to bin them as they know look like shorts & a t-shirt). She's very healthy, represents school at a number of sports and likes to be active. Lucky girl just has dh's metabolism.
