My few days ago ds was covered in tiny red spots all over his face, mainly on his cheeks and side of his face. I noticed that they seem to be concentrated on the areas of his face when he is bf so not sure if they are heat rash spots. However since yesterday they have all broken out and become all scabby and weepy too.The skin underneath is all red too He looks like is is suffering from burns and it looks quite shocking.

I took him to the drs this morning and he suggested I bathe ds's face in salt water.

Has anyone else's ds/dd suffered from anything similiar or is there any other tips I can use to make it better ?? TIA

Our DS had something similar when he was about 6 weeks old - somebody told me that they were milk spots??? As I was breast feeding I don't know if it was true or not. After about 10 days they faded anyway. I left well alone and didn't put anything on them at all. Babies do get all sorts of rashes in the early weeks, it looks awful at the time - and at a time when people are admiring the new (spotty) baby!!! I am sure that they'll subside soon.
ps As you have taken him to the Drs already I am assuming that he has ruled out chickenpox??

my dgs is also 7 weeks and had spots come up about 10 days ago and it is excema in his case
but has responded dramatically well to aqueous cream on prescription from doctor and his skin is virtually clear from looking awful before. Also he is now much less grizzly at night.
