She was up most of the night coughing, I have some venos but it doesn't work.

she and I are grumpy today from lack of sleep! Plus I have to work tomorrow as I've been off wth terrible d and v bug. So want us both to be able to sleep.

are there any cough medicines I can give her that will help?

any ideas?

Tixylix Night-time - it's one of those that makes baby a bit drowsy so it helps them sleep (it says on box 'do not drive, operate machinery or drink alcohol. It's for 1-6yr olds FFS!)

Arrggh!

We're right there with you!

I use Medised. She doesn't like it, but it knocks her out and what she needs is sleep.

I have found most cough medicines to be pretty useless. Second expat's use of Medised (even Piriton would help). Also if she is in a bed, give her an extra pillow - so her head is higher than her feet (or raise cot) - the problem is stuff dribbling down their throat and triggering cough reflex.

Thanks for that. I'm so weak from this horrid d and v bug I need sleep in order to be in a fit state for work.

lol the tixylix labelling!

Think I'll give the medised a go then, and add another pillow.

Someone once told me that cough medicines seem to suppress the cough.
I usually put some vick on the chest, & give medised too.

just want to say, the medised was brilliant.
DD was fast asleep from seven to 3am when she woke coughing, I gave her some more and she was straight back to sleep.

Have'nt given any tonight as her cough seems to have died down, bt will be using it if this happens again.
