Apparently i have a polyp which is to be removed in day surgery at the hospital.

Can anyone give any advice or tell me of their experiences please? Thank you.

Yes, I've had two actually.

Am total wimp at such things but it really was fine. They use a speculum, as when you have a smear test, and - basically clip the thing off. Very quick, not at all painful, a little light bleeding afterwards. Hospital staff extremely kind, at ours they employ a motherly older lady nurse to talk to you about your holidays/hold your hand should you need it at the critical moment, or you can take a friend or your partner if you prefer.

Thanks for that MaryMilllington. You have set my mind at rest.

I am playing with the idea of having the Mirena coil fitted at the same time (whilte you're there doc!), do you think i will be ok to drive after?

Like chocol8 I also had 2 polyps removed. Very quick, with a little bleeding and drove home afterwards. Don't worry .
