How long with a temperature before you take DC doctors?

I'm not sure if I should take DD to the Drs or not. She is 8 and has had a temperature since Monday. There is nothing obvious wrong with her (no rash/cold/cough) but her temperature just keeps coming back.
I have been giving Calpol and Ibuprofen which make it go down, but after 3 - 3.5 hours, its back up to 39 again.

I have a feeling that I should take her to the Drs but really don't want to waste their time.

Has it been 39 since monday? You could always try to phone NHS direct before you take her. Otherwise I'd go tomorrow at it'll be friday and no GP on weekends + 4 days with a temp of 39 would be quite long.

I would go after using paracetamol and ibuprofen for 3 days.

Her temperature has been going up to 39, mainly during the night it seems. I always worry when the Dr is going to be shut for the weekend. I think I will phone them in the morning.

Take her in tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side.
