Advice or experience please - blurry vision and steroids

Even writing the words gives me the shakes now.

I have been put on a short (ten day ) course of steroids to alleviate swelling in my opitcal nerve (I think that it what the probelm is..). I have had blurry vision for the last week - like a VERY smeary contact lens).

I was sent for a CT scan and wait for the results.

I don't really know what the diagnosois is yet. I am usually quite a worrier but for some reason even though this seems to be major, up till now I have been quite calm most of the time.

I have experience of steroids but not the eye problems. The steroids are essentially very powerful anti inflammatories and work brilliantly well in short doses like you are taking but in long term therapy problems arise as time goes in.Have you had eye problems before or any other symptoms? My sister had a type of eye inflammation which her doctor said was a serious form of conjunctivitis a course of steroid drops cleared it up

Thanks - the steroids were worrying me. THie list of side effects was rather disturbing.

The eye problem is out of the blue - despite chronic myopia......

I have two threads going (can't see what i am doing!!!!!!!!)
