a poo question for weaned ds

DS is 26 weeks old has has been weaned for the past 2 weeks. However this week his poos seem to be containing black bits!

Its green poo with black bits resembling pureed broccoli.
I know that the poo would change once he was weaned and it did go green etc but why now these black bits. It cant be anything hes eating as hes still only on parsnip,carrots and potato etc.

Have you fed him banana? Banana gives black thread like bits in the poo. It's perfectly normal, if a little frightening!

Agreed, sounds like banana. I took ds to the GP when I first saw the black thread! (Not just for that, fortunately, but I felt like a right pillock when he said "it's banana").

ah that explains it. Yes hes had banana on the days it happened.
