Bluish hard lump in finger

Noticed a firm painful tiny lump in finger palm side on left ring finger. It's slightly blue in colour under the skin. Could it be a vein? Anyone had anything similar?

Might not be the same thing, but last year I noticed something similar on the bottom of my first finger. It was a hard lump about the size of a small pea, and felt sort of achy rather than painful. Don't think it was blue though...

I went to the GP and they told me it was completely normal, something to do with the joint rubbing (wish I could remember the name they gave it! Will Google now and see if I can find out!) I just had to rub ibuprofen gel on it everyday for a week and it disappeared and I haven't had anything since.

Don't worry too much and go and see your GP! Good luck :)

Could be a lovely septic splinter. Post a pic in sporner's corner Smile

It was called a ganglion! They told me if the ibuprofen didn't sort it, they'd just drain it - easy peasy x

Could it be a blood blister? I occasionally get those and they just go away.
