Inflamed rib

I was laid down the other day and I noticed my left ribs where quite alot highter than those at the right, in fact the whole area around my left rib cage seems swollen and inflamed. There is no pain there though...but I have had a few bouts of upper stomach pain. Has anyone experienced "un-even ribs"?

My gp (grumpy partner!) is an osteopath and I showed him your question and he said are you pregnant? Have you had this before? A lot of people have wonky ribs.
He has a hangover today!
I would say see doc first and if thats no good osteopathy is brilliant! Not only did it solve my sciatica but it got me married and up the duff too!! Bargain!

No definately not pregnant! Hernia's run in the family though, I was wondering if it could be that?

Gosh he's a cross patch today! He says is it the whole ribcage? He then exploded and said I dont know I can't see her! And then he stomped off saying to see the doctor!!! Silly old fool drank wine beer and gin last night hence the foul mood!
I would say to get it checked if its feeling hot and looks different to normal.

Thats ok! He's always a miserable bugger after too much drink! DD was at granny's so he took the oportunity to kill a few brain cells and poison his liver. Sensible chap!

I read this thread with interest as I've had a strange rib problem.
A dull pain, a bit like a stitch but its there all the time - 6 weeks. but I feel healthy and fit.
The "pain" is on the right side. I know its were my liver is but I don't feel ill.
