im thinking about doing something drstic about my sstomach. it is obscenely hugely out of all proportion to the rest of me fat. the skin hangs down in folds either side and over my underwear. the before and after pictures of tummy tucks i have googled all have tummy's that look better than mine does even in the before pictures. thatts how bad mine is.

does anyone know anything about this? anyone had it done? or does it? cost?any opinions weould be very welcome pleasee.

i thonk it costs around 5 or £6000

im hoping to get my boobs enlarged soon so know how you feel about not being happy with your body

if i had the cash id have my tummy done too!

ledodgy · 26/01/2007 22:19

I knwo this sounds obvious but have you tried diet and exercise? My tummy was terrible and i thought it was saggy skin but since i've been exercising regulary and dieting it actually looks like a stomach know iyswim. yes the stretch marks are still there though faded but no saggy bits!

Fireflyfairy2 · 26/01/2007 22:19

I'd like liposuction. Hubby says no. Anyway, I'm a scaredy cat & afraid of pain

Was it MTPW was waiting for a tummy tuck?

Fireflyfairy2 · 26/01/2007 22:20

Ah actually MTPW I think was a gastric band.

I agree with Ledodgy, I have pics taken after I had my son & I look awful. A bit of exercise & a healthy diet afterwards I look much better...

stitch · 26/01/2007 22:23

i do excercise a lot. diet is really good sometimes, not so at other times. but i work out a lot at the gym.
six thousand pounds is way beyond anything i could spend though...........

I had a breast reduction when DD was three cause didn't think I would ever have any more children!

Five years later, DS is one, and now wish I could have a breast 'lift'! Not necessarily bigger just a little more pert!!!

losty · 06/03/2007 14:46

Having watched my DS go through plastic surgery I cant think of why people would choose to have it done. Do think seriously about this. Why put yourself through it unless it is absolutely necessary? (PS I am not judging, and if a friend said they were having it done I wopuld support them, but I think it needs to be thought about v v v seriously that's all)

buktus · 06/03/2007 18:39

and i did just that everybody has different circumstances

ScottishThistle · 06/03/2007 18:41

My friend had it done on the NHS hers was so bad, amazing difference!

Kidstrak · 06/03/2007 19:15

I also had a tummy tuck done its been a year now and the best thing that i have ever changed about my body, i can wear clothes that i want to, i can feel happy and confident that no one is going to stare at my bulge and i can take my kids swimming a thing that i could never have done with a baggy belly and a 8st 10lb frame

hidesitinthecupboard · 06/03/2007 19:27

I'd have a tummy tuck tomorrow if I could!

Hate my appearance so much partner NEVER see's me naked, and I never let him touch my stomach, or face, or arms, or thighs....... you get the picture!!!

I could make an Extreme Makeover last a whole series!!

Bobalina · 06/03/2007 19:32

I plan to have one as soon as I've lost the extra 4 stone in weight I'm carrying.

Have heard it's very painful - but so's childbirth!

If I was down to my ideal weight, had the money and done the research, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Kidstrak · 06/03/2007 19:53

your not alone i never let dp look at me or touch my stomach i used to turn the light off to get changed and get dressed in the bathroom, its all different now though, i actually feel that confident that i could dance around the room naked but of course dp what be so shocked if i did

nally · 06/03/2007 19:58

I've had liposuction and boob job. would have more if had more money!!!

buktus · 07/03/2007 10:49
