FlameBoy's Blistered Tongue Update

Flamesparrow · 26/01/2007 14:23

I realised I had threads about this all over, so seemed easier to do a fresh one for the update!!

We managed to get enough fluids in him to keep him home - the doctor says that she's not too sure how that was enough, but it was. Since then he seems to have passed the turning point....

He is feeding properly again, and has even just eaten lunch.

He is still very doped up on pain meds, and as they wear off he screams such a pained cry that it makes me ache He is most upset about not being able to suck him thumb, and that's making falling asleep hard.

I think we have a couple more long days and nights ahead, but things are definately improving

Thank you for all your advice!

It turns out it is oral herpes Belgo He has a tongue and inner mouth full of coldsores.

I had one last week and the doctor is assuming that the virus passed onto him and this is how it came out.

Frizbe · 26/01/2007 16:49

Flamesparrow · 26/01/2007 16:56

Try not to worry Belgo - hardly anywhere had the meds which implies its rare.
