If boob ultrasound shows something that looks like fibroadenoma...

... is it almost certainly that?
I've just had a biopsy of a lumpy bit, which showed up on ultrasound as looking like a fibroadenoma. I'm relieved it doesn't look sinister of course, but just wondering why they have to biopsy it anyway? Do things frequently look like fibroadenoma and then biopsy as something different?

Thanks for asking Pisfor. I haven't heard results of the biopsy yet, but am assuming all will be well because it looked like a fibroadenoma on ultrasound. I just wondered whether I can pretty much assume it's OK on this basis or whether there's a not insignificant chance the biopsy will show something different.
